HFTP International Hospitality Technology Hall of Fame 2019 Inductee Announced

Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) is pleased to announce that Sudharshan Chary will be inducted into the HFTP International Hospitality Technology Hall of Fame at the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC®) in Minneapolis, Minnesota USA next week. Sudharshan, co-founder and president of Datavision Technologies, was recognized for helping drive the evolution of business intelligence for hospitality. He will be recognized on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 in a ceremony at the commencement of that morning's general session.

"I am deeply honored to be recognized for my contributions to the hospitality industry," says Chary. "To be part of a select group that includes some of the biggest names in hospitality is very rewarding and quite humbling."

The International Hospitality Technology Hall of Fame is HFTP's highest level of recognition in the area of technology. Since 1989, 45 individuals have received this award as a reflection of their contributions to the hospitality industry. Chary was nominated and selected by their peers for representing the best in innovation and application, and for being leaders in their profession.

In 1996 Chary and his partner Sherry Marek co-founded Datavision Technologies, Inc. The partners have spent their careers solving a problem they noted early on, at a time when hotels still struggled with basic reporting. They recognized the need to automate data collection, and thus the Datavision Business Intelligence system was created. The system's ability to produce visually striking graphical dashboards meant that department heads could quickly assess their performance without digging through reams of paper. Today, Datavision continues to further the idea of true BI by combining hotel information with other data sources such as weather, social media, comp set information, web analytics, guest surveys, etc. while incorporating self-service BI and machine learning.

HITEC Minnneapolis will take place from June 17-20 at the Minneapolis Convention Centre in Minneapolis, Minnesota USA. Also this year is HITEC Dubai, which will take place from November 12-13 at Festival Arena in Festival City Dubai in Dubai, UAE in partnership with Naseba.
