Too Busy to Text? Beekeeper Rolls Out Voice Messaging for Chats at ALIS 2020

Vying for the event’s ‘Hottest Technology’ title for a second consecutive year, Beekeeper will reveal the coolest new way to communicate effectively with a hotel’s non-desk workers

Today at the Americas Lodging Investment Summit (ALIS) here, Beekeeper is launching a new push-to-talk feature for chats designed for hoteliers who are too busy to spend time manually typing out messages to their teams. Rather than using less secure consumer platforms like WhatsApp to record, share and receive voice messages, the new feature will enable hotel management and staff to communicate more quickly and efficiently while on-the-go.

ALIS, the leading and largest hotel investment conference in the world, will be held January 27 to 29 at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE. Beekeeper will showcase its award-winning operational communication platform that digitizes the non-desk workforce by connecting operational systems and communication channels within one secure, intuitive interface - and its new voice messaging for chats feature - in the ALIS Tech Lounge, an area outside the Platinum Ballroom for delegates to meet and network.

In addition to being named "Hottest Technology" at the ALIS Tech Challenge 2019, Beekeeper also was named the 2019 "Top Operational Product" for Employee Engagement by HotelTechReport and a "Top 10 Best Places to Work in Hotel Tech 2019" for fostering a great work environment that attracts and retains the best people.

"Voice messaging was one of the most popular features requested by our customers and prospects last year," said Beekeeper Head of Hospitality Andrada Paraschiv (pictured left) who will be presenting during the ALIS Tech Challenge. "Sometimes typing out chat messages can slow the flow of information, especially around the busy seasons. The new Beekeeper voice messaging feature that we are debuting today at ALIS will pave the way for smoother and easier communication — all at the touch of a button."

The Beekeeper voice messaging for chat feature will enable workers to record, send, receive, and listen to voice messages directly in the Beekeeper app or listen to messages from colleagues on their computers via the desktop platform. Those sending a voice message can playback their own recording before they hit send to make sure their message is clear and easy to understand, and those receiving voice communication can pause and rewind messages in case they need to listen to it again.

"Essentially, the new voice messaging for chats feature will provide managers and frontline employees who use Beekeeper with another direct line of communication, enabling them to be more successful in their respective roles," Paraschiv said. "Our mission has always been to give every employee a voice within their organization. This feature incentivizes employees to use their hotel's secure internal communication platform instead of unsecure workarounds like WhatsApp. We believe this will help employees across all levels connect and share information instantly to provide a more frictionless, memorable experience for guests, which in turn drives more revenues to the bottom line."
