TigerTMS (http://www.tigertms.com) has re-launched iLink – the most widely used middleware application in the hospitality sector.

Guests today are tech savvy and accept technology that aids a seamless and comfortable stay. Whether this is using their mobile device for checking in and out, to have room ambience, lighting, temperature and music automatically set for arrival, or to use the in-room smart TV to access on demand services such as NetFlix, guests embrace the experience.

To enable this expectation, hoteliers typically have their PMS system connected to every application used within a hotel. This architecture however, has no place in the modern world as it is unnecessarily complicated and expensive; a licence fee is charged for every connection and new interfaces encounter more cost and time for the connections to be built.

Hoteliers who migrate to a modern and more agile middleware setup can facilitate the easy addition (or removal) of applications, whilst retaining full connectivity to the PMS. This option provides scalability, flexibility and efficiencies.

John Owen, TigerTMS CEO comments: “Middleware allows the PMS to retain its position as the most important system, but reduces the hotel’s outlay of multiple interfaces and the annual support costs – one iLink implementation will suffice”.

He continues: “With over 18,000 properties worldwide already using iLink on a daily basis, we have a unique opportunity to revolutionise the way hoteliers operate and use technology to enhance the guest experience”.

Hoteliers who elect to let the PMS do what it does best, but leave the connectivity to open, scalable software that bring savings and freedom of choice that benefits the guests and hoteliers alike will set themselves apart from the competition.

The iLink middleware is available by contacting [email protected]. TigerTMS customers are encouraged to make contact to discuss a move from a PMS centric architecture to a distributed architecture, using their existing iLink licence.
